Anup’s journey in architecture began as early as 1994, during his 10th standard, when he interned with the architect who designed his family home. This early exposure sparked a deep passion that would shape his future.

​

He graduated with a degree in Architecture from Hindustan College of Engineering, Chennai, in 2001. After two years of solo practice, he pursued his Master’s in Digital Architecture at the School of Architecture and Planning, Anna University, completing it in 2005. He further broadened his academic and conceptual horizon by graduating from the London School of Economics (LSE), London, in 2006.

a harmonious blend of built and natural elements that together shape how people live, feel, and interact with a space.

After gaining diverse project experience internationally, he returned to India in 2008. In 2012, he founded Space Perception and Design Build Inc in Bangalore, establishing a practice centered around the philosophy of “Design That Works.”

His design approach is grounded in user-centric thinking Understanding the purpose of the space, analysing end-user needs, and aligning design objectives accordingly.

Over the years, the practice has earned recognition in both residential and commercial sectors.

Anup’s ongoing research interest lies in “The Impact of the Construction Industry on Global Warming”—focusing on designing for climatic responsiveness, sustainable construction methods, and the responsible use of materials.

A civil engineer by profession, George began his career in the foundational core of construction literally. His journey started in the civil foundation industry as a partner in his family-run firm, Unidec Foundations, a Kochi-based company specializing in advanced foundation systems.

Between 2000 and 2003, George led the design and development of over 200,000 square feet of residential and commercial space under his brand, Uni Housing Projects, in Kochi.

Following a brief engagement with large-scale infrastructure projects at Reliance, George took on the challenge of delivering The Paul Hotel in Bangalore, an experience that further honed his execution capabilities in premium hospitality projects.

In 2012, George partnered with Anup to co-found Space Perception and Design Build Inc in Bangalore.

​

George’s deep expertise in civil detailing and landscape design has been instrumental in shaping the firm’s grounded and technically sound approach.

His passion ensures that designs are not only visionary but also build-able and enduring.

Under their leadership, the firm has grown to earn acclaim across sectors, rooted in the belief that clarity in detail is what transforms design into reality.
